I am addicted to reading...

My name is Margo and I am addicted to reading. I have always had a love for reading and well I have to say I have it bad. For me its normal it to have a "to read" pile, so that I never run out of something to read. Though I am pretty sure that most people's "to read" piles don't consist of about 100 books! No I'm not kidding and here is the proof, the "to read" pile by my bed (they aren't all there I do have another stash in the closet lol). I am constantly adding to it as I am taking away from it so it stays pretty much like this all the time.

To help with my addiction I have discovered an amazing site Goodread.com, here I can list and keep track of all the books I have read and plan to read. Plus I can see the reviews that others have given for books that I want to read or find new books to add to the to read pile.

I read every night before bed, its my time to wind down and relax. I have found that I sleep much better when I read before sleep, and after doing some research I have learned that the best way to read is by book light. It helps your mind and body get the message that its time to start to wind down. I don't know about you, but if I don't make sure that I have relaxed before trying to get that beauty sleep my mind just races and I have a hard time falling asleep.

I am thrilled that my kids love to read just as much as I do. A trip to the book store is such a thrill to all of us. Another great site that I like to use is called Paperbackswap.com, here I can post the books that I have read and am ready to pass along and then find others that I would like to read. Its a wonderful way to get rid of some of the books you have laying around and to get some new ones to take their place.

Where Has She Been And Some Valentines Goodies.

Not really sure if any of you have asked yourself this. It doesn't help that I had just started the blog before my absence, but just in case you have here goes. We have several life changing issues happen in our house hold in the last 6 months, without going into a long and rather emotional spill about it all I will just say that hubby is now a college student again after the long two years of surgeries that have ended in him not being able to continue in his profession any longer. I myself have been dealing with an illness that just wouldn't let up and frankly just didn't have the energy or want to even try to be creative. We finally found the issue (we hope) and I am on the road to feeling normal again which is something I haven't felt in a really long time. So with that I have finally started to get my craft on and had fun making several things for Valentine's this year.
I got lots of inspiration from several of my favorite blogs. Once Tanner and I say this Lego box on Crap I've Made it was a must to make for his class party. Super simple just took the shoe box and cut the slot on the top. Next we cut down some dixie cups and filled them with tin foil to give it some strength and glued them on. Hubby then help Tanner spray paint it red and vala. Love the way it came out, then of course he had to have the Valentines to go along with it.

I grabbed the picture she had already made up and uploaded it to Picnik added Tanner's name and then sent them to Walgreens to be printed. Grabbed a couple of bags of toads (and frogs) at the dollar store and they were a hit with his friends.

Lastly I made picture frames with conversation hearts. All I did was take a simple wood frame from Michaels, painted it white, then began to glue and glue some more hearts all around it. I made three of them one each for my little boys I watch everyday and one for myself, picture will be added as soon as I can get my kiddos together long enough to snap it LOL.

I have several project in progress now and will be posting them here in the next several days. Along with tons of ideas that I have been thinking about during this long absence. Thanks so much for stopping by.
