Of course this isn't true I do finish a lot of my projects. My biggest problem is that I have way to many that I want to do or need to do and I have several going on at the same time. My goal this week is to not only start my list of projects for the next week but to get them all done this week. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">My list is a long one for the coming week: </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj01hruaTQy9UPgRpby3iuSRo4wIv43FRiwjgcI8xkSWI0RAAhwVVUmO4Hkm1012NSXr9zCvdGT-x_esX-8jGQqUZV0XoO0us-2mKtU3LD7VMQXRZ3U1vedbf17Dxr8om-1vTKNKEkqHxIb/s1600/100_3865.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj01hruaTQy9UPgRpby3iuSRo4wIv43FRiwjgcI8xkSWI0RAAhwVVUmO4Hkm1012NSXr9zCvdGT-x_esX-8jGQqUZV0XoO0us-2mKtU3LD7VMQXRZ3U1vedbf17Dxr8om-1vTKNKEkqHxIb/s400/100_3865.JPG" width="300" /></span></a></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">First I have two Halloween decor items, some polish stars made out of Halloween scrapbook paper, need to be finished and hung. I started these a couple of weeks ago, and as most of you can understand, got distracted by some other projects. They are coming out really cool so far. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh194F8VpMy0qFmIDMv0CpdXXBIqK7fiQJ7YK7COpr7KnwE99GRgRy1gmttXo6f9Ax00sKNhmlpzuqtEU6MgFi4HuzbgaldsFDoOHHWi2GyLjXtyaJ6xv1LHN5Zh0WZnsZTYTCzk_S3x8E7/s1600/100_3864.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh194F8VpMy0qFmIDMv0CpdXXBIqK7fiQJ7YK7COpr7KnwE99GRgRy1gmttXo6f9Ax00sKNhmlpzuqtEU6MgFi4HuzbgaldsFDoOHHWi2GyLjXtyaJ6xv1LHN5Zh0WZnsZTYTCzk_S3x8E7/s200/100_3864.JPG" width="200" /></span></a></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Also a new wreath with theses fun supplies. Hmm doesn't look like the ribbon made it into the shot. Oh and can someone please tell me why styro foam cost so dang much!</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEistEf7bj3mrdfL53rVXms8jVK2cVUITVlFgSjNEixsfmfHMYaFlRIRZjVusloa0rp-tY31HT_vqdvTynBHDmS4I90REx6AV3EJOP8jdiR7766dBbgstYjyIqIaIk8WZX9IMF0oVY97Lwk_/s1600/100_3867.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEistEf7bj3mrdfL53rVXms8jVK2cVUITVlFgSjNEixsfmfHMYaFlRIRZjVusloa0rp-tY31HT_vqdvTynBHDmS4I90REx6AV3EJOP8jdiR7766dBbgstYjyIqIaIk8WZX9IMF0oVY97Lwk_/s320/100_3867.JPG" width="240" /></span></a></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Then there is the never ending project here at the house. Painting the living room! I just realized that I need to update on the progress of that. I have gotten another section of paneling primed so I need to get to painting it. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">One of the little boys I take care of everyday just loves to color so I want to do one of those cool melted crayon canvases for his room at home. </span><br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7pTODAbUvOaeGbqVeWIknkR8YWlU5opQ1inq4G43My6ERE_0q3XHhOABMa2V3298nr7F0wt9br63yrdGKeVnDfJmm8Use_biZdvBZ2Gw73VJCKXM_ai1wryJouaJsegGIp2NiRoNBXNRI/s1600/100_3869.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7pTODAbUvOaeGbqVeWIknkR8YWlU5opQ1inq4G43My6ERE_0q3XHhOABMa2V3298nr7F0wt9br63yrdGKeVnDfJmm8Use_biZdvBZ2Gw73VJCKXM_ai1wryJouaJsegGIp2NiRoNBXNRI/s200/100_3869.JPG" width="200" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Lastly I have some art I started drawing in my art journal that needs to be finished and painted. A spin on Alice in Wonderland. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_UCjpwUMI3c6MObYsvh3WeanofvIAiO-UBBTnZA9s87lMajmgC2g0MgtdZsNY3___oX_xiJvw0dDvA4c5efXcP3Lajvudj1cdc2T_cdosyI619QIYpGR0LKQ3Tj41Rewcv3d2wjixCX9F/s1600/100_3878.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_UCjpwUMI3c6MObYsvh3WeanofvIAiO-UBBTnZA9s87lMajmgC2g0MgtdZsNY3___oX_xiJvw0dDvA4c5efXcP3Lajvudj1cdc2T_cdosyI619QIYpGR0LKQ3Tj41Rewcv3d2wjixCX9F/s400/100_3878.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Now let's see how much I get done, my sister is coming for a visit during this time. Keep your fingers crossed for me and check back for my progress. </span><br />

If you haven't tried to crochet yet I encourage you all to give it a try. She really did some wonderful tutorials on how to do all the basic stitches and a walk through on how to do this pattern. I know that there were a lot of us following along so please check out the <a href="http://www.maybematilda.com/2011/10/cal-link-up-your-cowls-and-vote-for.html">link up</a> to see every ones. The yarn I used was from Red Heart Curly Q: patchwork. I am so loving all of the colors in it, it will go with everything. I enjoyed making this so much that maded two other ones LOL. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> The first thing you need to do is decide on the size of the art that want to make. I went with 24 x 34. At first I had planned on painting the pieces like the original has, but once I saw the colors on the wood at the lumber store I stuck with just the natural colors of the wood and the transferring gave the pieces a vintage look which just made them perfect. This picture is listed as being on sale for 229.00 at the moment (the original price was $299.00). I was able to make my version for $52.00! It can be done for less depending on the wood that you buy. We just went with what hubby thought would be easiest for him to work with :) </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPZV3nhcEBu1Kdpt5Mf992XQP9-pq7nTqxbGZbioLgDd4bB2TZhjqQlsKpdhisEkm_SIIDZ91CjcWMYjdj-sitTODyGHfdC3IE3Ga_L3z7rDZsgqwRDEl5YBxAcRE1XSR3SPYaZJmKXMpt/s1600/100_3802.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPZV3nhcEBu1Kdpt5Mf992XQP9-pq7nTqxbGZbioLgDd4bB2TZhjqQlsKpdhisEkm_SIIDZ91CjcWMYjdj-sitTODyGHfdC3IE3Ga_L3z7rDZsgqwRDEl5YBxAcRE1XSR3SPYaZJmKXMpt/s200/100_3802.JPG" width="200" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Let's get started with the cutting. What we did is cut one piece at a time going in rows right to left. We would lay a piece of wood in the next spot to determine what size we wanted that one to be and marked it to cut. I have to say it was like making a puzzle. If you are good with a jig saw this is easy, I tried but for the life of me I couldn't cut a straight line to save my life so hubby was a big help there. The system that I found that worked the best is after a piece was cut I would number it, again going right to left row by row. When writing the numbers make sure you so it lightly so that it will erase off easily. I ended up with 31 pieces. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcB9r1pd80BhLLsJucJR6OitaIiDwdflJilkPHbsuJRJvYShm4BJn-gWwM-LAiOW38y6SewDuyCUGaBzo5NCliyAh8ae4X8ezXSbk7VoTV0kgqvqaSqk15TWi9WOckt8YWh1d2TmfRigih/s1600/100_3808.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="211" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcB9r1pd80BhLLsJucJR6OitaIiDwdflJilkPHbsuJRJvYShm4BJn-gWwM-LAiOW38y6SewDuyCUGaBzo5NCliyAh8ae4X8ezXSbk7VoTV0kgqvqaSqk15TWi9WOckt8YWh1d2TmfRigih/s400/100_3808.JPG" width="400" /></a></span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2q1-w4xjQRRT2oGv9WSWCmI9tlkYgRChda31QyOGq0inmOmMTo6p2y5UXdvXGMn8_pQpDua6vPvRwSloZzY99H9ipqNu-JuMUNEgMdDlV_IS96738axx1834mOfWn8Z_YXKGBHjxFflbC/s1600/100_3813.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht5eoOqjTXecbyBTJWptcdGKpGkgEsrjel44w19m63Uk41TOqJRktL5pL24GrfLzfeZJetNkrxTtbBFxSFsxCZ_KiNBPmQgBo_JuVo-8hEdVgKiNhNQCDVpD8AguagroRztqBIO1MqF0Uz/s1600/100_3813.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht5eoOqjTXecbyBTJWptcdGKpGkgEsrjel44w19m63Uk41TOqJRktL5pL24GrfLzfeZJetNkrxTtbBFxSFsxCZ_KiNBPmQgBo_JuVo-8hEdVgKiNhNQCDVpD8AguagroRztqBIO1MqF0Uz/s400/100_3813.JPG" width="400" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEht5eoOqjTXecbyBTJWptcdGKpGkgEsrjel44w19m63Uk41TOqJRktL5pL24GrfLzfeZJetNkrxTtbBFxSFsxCZ_KiNBPmQgBo_JuVo-8hEdVgKiNhNQCDVpD8AguagroRztqBIO1MqF0Uz/s1600/100_3813.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-text-decorations-in-effect: none; color: black;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Now after lots of measuring and cutting, the backing board was covered. It's time to print and transfer the images. Again I just went onto the net and found clip art of the veggies that I wanted to use. I will say that since I was just using my printer for the images I need an image that has a lot of ink (meaning a lot of black coloring that will be printed). Getting a copy machine copy is the best way to make sure any transfer works well. Next I sized the images and then decided where they were going to be placed. I then turned them over and put the number on the back so that I made sure to put the right imagine on the right wood piece. </span></span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL4h-H8UEVNBKJOoBD9pNNL5cxMqJbTfOrK-6DHv2SW73rgLzNU4ehCHAnIJHQ0FS5zH-5yB3SyueAEu5LiU5iHoB1o9GgCKUNB6-_lqh8DHOJrpY7NQLDdWJC9c4r3T2tb9of135GEr7w/s1600/2006-03-191.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL4h-H8UEVNBKJOoBD9pNNL5cxMqJbTfOrK-6DHv2SW73rgLzNU4ehCHAnIJHQ0FS5zH-5yB3SyueAEu5LiU5iHoB1o9GgCKUNB6-_lqh8DHOJrpY7NQLDdWJC9c4r3T2tb9of135GEr7w/s400/2006-03-191.jpg" width="400" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Time to do the transfers, you will need the gel medium and and sponge brush and of course the image. First put the number on the piece of wood on the back to keep track. You want to put a coat of gel medium just in the area that that the image is going, you will not only be transferring the ink but it will seal the wood in that area so it the extra ink will not bleeding into the wood, which is what gave mine that vintage look. Make sure that you put a good amount on but also make sure that it is smooth and no lumps and bumps. Once you have it lay your image face down and smooth it out gently, do this for all the pieces. Now the waiting begins. You want to let this dry very well so over night is your best bet to make sure that it is good and dry, you want to let it dry at lest 10 hours. </span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">This is now where I have to have a long talk with my camera since it decided to mess up the pictures of this next step. Once the gel medium has dried completely just spritz the paper with some water and start rubbing the paper off. As you are rubbing some of the ink with be on your fingers and this is where I just rubbed my fingers on the rest of the wood to give it the vintage look. After all the paper is rubbed off your pieces this would be when you would add a paint color is you so choose. My suggestion for this would be to add water to the paint to make it more like a wash so that it is a light wash of color to the wood piece. </span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEita8G0kNSpbp-xtWXB0wqMooTFGiVrrU9s6Dih9s9eK2deHITMTh_xS4knv8Rl4erzhYyizQD1MMXCD9Mz6Bmri0LfduOAPCU27GF60JH2rfoWNHFSqQSbYnKCUmTCwzzIKxtvps2hQXIP/s1600/100_3816.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEita8G0kNSpbp-xtWXB0wqMooTFGiVrrU9s6Dih9s9eK2deHITMTh_xS4knv8Rl4erzhYyizQD1MMXCD9Mz6Bmri0LfduOAPCU27GF60JH2rfoWNHFSqQSbYnKCUmTCwzzIKxtvps2hQXIP/s200/100_3816.JPG" width="200" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEita8G0kNSpbp-xtWXB0wqMooTFGiVrrU9s6Dih9s9eK2deHITMTh_xS4knv8Rl4erzhYyizQD1MMXCD9Mz6Bmri0LfduOAPCU27GF60JH2rfoWNHFSqQSbYnKCUmTCwzzIKxtvps2hQXIP/s1600/100_3816.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Almost there, let's break out the glue and clamps! Glue the first row down and clamp. It takes about an hour a row and you can only do one row at a time so that you get a good fit and nothing shifts. Now as you can see once that first row was done it was harder to use a clap to hold the wood piece on, so we just grabbed the extra bricks we had on the porch and used them to insure a good glue to wood contact. </span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDn3XjeGfVqwoGRiOxjFMK_S6LUuI0RhztW_NfiGepom-r_S8k0CPs9bZfaX1olALqP_InxYOZjUYiEO48WIEhvViHXY9rHnLLfgJH0XuQAkJpOob4XwiBUj5NGM4lZwC7LlwzATOD5oIr/s1600/100_3821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDn3XjeGfVqwoGRiOxjFMK_S6LUuI0RhztW_NfiGepom-r_S8k0CPs9bZfaX1olALqP_InxYOZjUYiEO48WIEhvViHXY9rHnLLfgJH0XuQAkJpOob4XwiBUj5NGM4lZwC7LlwzATOD5oIr/s200/100_3821.JPG" width="200" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">This another part of the project that takes a lot of waiting but it is well worth it in the end. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Woo hoo in the home stretch now. With all the pieces glued down its time to decide where you want to put the raised pieces, measure, cut, transfer and glue. </span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ-PDm58ON0eCS5xpmjAj8kHBs7KZ6O7LuMu5p9Tt5k_gN8k0woTQWbYBsXlODsFTb1gtI-HPPjBe_A4FED65SUc5YIVDuZt_XRzPSqcO84hQDMqZbl8q78VwkoUw6IlgfDifq6nRGKJX7/s1600/100_3828.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZ-PDm58ON0eCS5xpmjAj8kHBs7KZ6O7LuMu5p9Tt5k_gN8k0woTQWbYBsXlODsFTb1gtI-HPPjBe_A4FED65SUc5YIVDuZt_XRzPSqcO84hQDMqZbl8q78VwkoUw6IlgfDifq6nRGKJX7/s200/100_3828.JPG" width="150" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Lastly we cut the trim pieces to fit the finished piece to frame it. I did a light wash of color on the trim so that it matched the whole thing better. Glue it on and clamp. When its dry put your hanger of choice onto the back and hang up for everyone to admire. I so love the way it turned out and it looks better then I imagined it would in my kitchen. </span></div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Lx37DMjt0bVOKAerwyT7Boa1slrLGUZ3QVeqHqHsnXMH88ujnTB5jEPsUZAbtnAv39tBnBsJL-xAd5GUZQ_CWspZRrGB5TkRoY0l2t8FKKlXpuTUORq94LZxyBQhQJ8eBIhrJyBGq3S_/s1600/2006-03-192.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8Lx37DMjt0bVOKAerwyT7Boa1slrLGUZ3QVeqHqHsnXMH88ujnTB5jEPsUZAbtnAv39tBnBsJL-xAd5GUZQ_CWspZRrGB5TkRoY0l2t8FKKlXpuTUORq94LZxyBQhQJ8eBIhrJyBGq3S_/s640/2006-03-192.jpg" width="640" /></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />
</span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">One of the biggest tips that I would give with this project is that once you have the pieces cut for your first line, go ahead and do the image transfers and then glue them onto the backing board. We thought were were keeping everything lined up well when cutting all the pieces but once we started the gluing process the last row was hanging off some, so we had to cut the extra off with a router.</span><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> We are updating my daughter's room and what I had made before for all her necklaces( which was a small cork board version) wasn't working anymore so I took the idea and ran with it and made her this new more "mature" one to use.</span><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The first week's challenge for SYTYC was to make something from the dollar store, strangely this was a lot harder then I thought it would be but I do like what I ended up with. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBzMiJXWDneB-tny1_viOHsdFtsjr0dfn01rDbvpQ5M6gzgfvar0cp390lj_VVDykV0CCIATE0kBeXik1LNsfPB8RbVE-5qAkWe_w_ybrFg037sIugnSKYFQbdS_HmBZS44JzhVzouDGt/s1600/popcorn+bowl+before.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfBzMiJXWDneB-tny1_viOHsdFtsjr0dfn01rDbvpQ5M6gzgfvar0cp390lj_VVDykV0CCIATE0kBeXik1LNsfPB8RbVE-5qAkWe_w_ybrFg037sIugnSKYFQbdS_HmBZS44JzhVzouDGt/s320/popcorn+bowl+before.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>When cruising the Dollar Tree I knew what I wanted to do as soon as I saw these supplies. Like most families now a days we are having to cut back on some of the outings that we do. One of the big ones for us is going to the movies, with a family of 4 and a price tag of $35 just to get in not to mention concessions, its just something we really can't bring ourselves to do anymore. So we have movie night at home with a movie rental from redbox, movie candy and popcorn from the dollar store which can all be done for the price of just one adult ticket.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOqGnaHDMkWgg1q-vrNDrfi5P1yExP27tUV3hNYKtjk_QBQZDkgIm9PgZs1QblSdmqn7fiLo1uU4umBFYWjMkMKKrddM4kBhkgExM_GjaV69icjET5IZoGI0bRRnab8tqA15UkLQPHCQ7T/s1600/after.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="188" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOqGnaHDMkWgg1q-vrNDrfi5P1yExP27tUV3hNYKtjk_QBQZDkgIm9PgZs1QblSdmqn7fiLo1uU4umBFYWjMkMKKrddM4kBhkgExM_GjaV69icjET5IZoGI0bRRnab8tqA15UkLQPHCQ7T/s320/after.jpg" width="320" /></a></div> For our new movie popcorn bowl I used a plastic punch bowl, tickets and mod podge. I switched back and forth between the two ticket colors and put an extra layer of mod podge over them all to seal the bowl.This project only cost me $3, you can't beat that!<br />

I highly suggest heading over and checking all the colors out. </span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">There are a lot of deep colors and one of my favorites for this season is the deep teal. What a beautiful warm and rich color my mind is just turning with things to make with this color. Then when I add the phlox, nougat, coffee liquor, and bamboo I am so in love and can't wait to start playing with these colors. </span><br />

<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">As most crafters know these colors don't just stay in the fashion world, the craft world also looks to these colors when getting ready for the season. We will start to see these colors in the new decor items, scrapbook pages and even in the floral departments. </span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"> I will be watching to see when they start to pop up in the stores, mean while I plan on collecting several times with these colors and getting a start on my fall decorating. I hope you too want to know go and play with these colors for something new for yourself or your home. </span><br />

Well we made it through the first week back to school with the kids already having homework and a project. It also means that Tanner had another birthday, I can't believe he is 11! I made a wreath for the door to put up for all of our birthdays.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfePBnqIlh_5dIOWZvY3RXKR7xZAGvKdligLGHY7VzVcd8z9V7rZyhJj0UqFQJFu3qmspEhOkTIMPQVTOHlfiTTe4_wxsayMi1f5o9mFC5TTScJkpVv9Ljt8_km-i50hXA-SG3GZU93jjt/s1600/100_3644.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjfePBnqIlh_5dIOWZvY3RXKR7xZAGvKdligLGHY7VzVcd8z9V7rZyhJj0UqFQJFu3qmspEhOkTIMPQVTOHlfiTTe4_wxsayMi1f5o9mFC5TTScJkpVv9Ljt8_km-i50hXA-SG3GZU93jjt/s200/100_3644.JPG" width="200" /></a>Lets start with the supplies, all you need is a styrofoam wreath (size of your choice), floral pins, balloons (lots and lots of balloons), ribbon, and chipboard letters.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpq2KdnwFn0GMa41DOpTpCSg_YYAjhO7EavHLRRmc1-CgA67HJbXMW8lNL6qtkqLcvab4LfZpS9-R5E6VsM2ytV2yBKoO1TdgdFNRNLcrqe_d4Bf9IZl8-xw_3vwYySad3LwlGAOb9xXmw/s1600/100_3647.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpq2KdnwFn0GMa41DOpTpCSg_YYAjhO7EavHLRRmc1-CgA67HJbXMW8lNL6qtkqLcvab4LfZpS9-R5E6VsM2ytV2yBKoO1TdgdFNRNLcrqe_d4Bf9IZl8-xw_3vwYySad3LwlGAOb9xXmw/s200/100_3647.JPG" width="150" /></a></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzKaX2-oXPP-KOEZTPCNVXI5BeFth09tZ6bnA0QyEKmWVyICATuTheWj4n5JlHHe_SfwR6fFwTbu_n4R9ZVEoRs_lUKvHLurCjGHeJr_2zf2d60vsxXcWkLoZ9b4wLsWLbszLrC6Q5fRNr/s1600/100_3651.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzKaX2-oXPP-KOEZTPCNVXI5BeFth09tZ6bnA0QyEKmWVyICATuTheWj4n5JlHHe_SfwR6fFwTbu_n4R9ZVEoRs_lUKvHLurCjGHeJr_2zf2d60vsxXcWkLoZ9b4wLsWLbszLrC6Q5fRNr/s320/100_3651.JPG" width="320" /></a>I separated all my balloons by color so that I could have some sort of system when putting them on the wreath. Next you just take the floral pin and put it in the middle of a balloon and inserting it into the wreath lining them up next to each other going around the wreath. Just do this step over and over and over till you have the wreath covered. I ended up doing three rows on the top and sides.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzi6El-NiO_zSVio8ipNapColoP6df8R9TA-V9Pj9UrVmL1_XEeMxui6AonwRbn_mixE5K9sm718ABt-HxqAY_A01fWuSV638n1E8zOWwg6AHFeJC0h6Hrg1eUfnMYlF2lPj2FuClQPq76/s1600/100_3671.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzi6El-NiO_zSVio8ipNapColoP6df8R9TA-V9Pj9UrVmL1_XEeMxui6AonwRbn_mixE5K9sm718ABt-HxqAY_A01fWuSV638n1E8zOWwg6AHFeJC0h6Hrg1eUfnMYlF2lPj2FuClQPq76/s200/100_3671.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>Then I added the ribbon which I recommend to do first so that its easier to hide with the balloons. Also believe it or not being styrofoam and balloons it is very heavy so you want the ribbon to be wrapped around the wreath to make sure that you have a good hold on it. I used the remainder of the ribbon to make a medallion for the letters to sit on. Next I painted all the letters and glued them together.<br />
<br />
Last I just hot glued the Happy Birthday onto the bottom of the wreath and it was ready to go. It was a big hit and everyone can't wait to have it hanging up for their birthday's.<br />

Next we took the trim off of the doors and drawers so they didn't seem so dated. Then it was time to sand them down, which was really fast and easy with my handy hand sander that hubby got me (I love this thing and have thought about painting it pink LOL).<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH0nU1P6vNfZ12V11-dzb_hWoUhYrKdWCzCYcbSqgV2K6xa13voNU9_mC0qR0Pn7L_OMCeJ3TwGPvKZOfbghXD_314Wqwng37qd_cjSb08nOsapLfUHXP40p7i9uOg6R6phydJ6RT1O-XY/s1600/100_3303.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjH0nU1P6vNfZ12V11-dzb_hWoUhYrKdWCzCYcbSqgV2K6xa13voNU9_mC0qR0Pn7L_OMCeJ3TwGPvKZOfbghXD_314Wqwng37qd_cjSb08nOsapLfUHXP40p7i9uOg6R6phydJ6RT1O-XY/s200/100_3303.JPG" width="150" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
After the first sanding we then puddied all the cracks and dips in the wood which was a little harder then it looked because the wood is so dark. We had to run our hands over the wood several times to find all the spots.<br />

At this point I highly suggest that you have some tack clothes around for the dust that gets everywhere when you sand, of course it would have been better if we could have done this out side but being attached to the wall makes that a bit difficult. After all the sanding was done it was time to prime everything and then start painting. Oh yeah clean out all the junk that is in there goodness how did that happen!<br />

I have to say I am excited for the kids to get back to school next week (as much as I hate the idea too) so that I have more artistic time during the day. I have really missed working on some art this summer. Though I have gotten several projects done so I have been productive.<br />

Then I moved into adding some acrylic paints and graphite pencils.<br />

And here is what I have so far. I am going to add some quotes to the other side to complete the page. I liked the way it turned out so much that I have used it as my blog button that you can grab on your right. Thanks for stopping by.<br />

It is hard for me to pick favorites before a couple of shows have been on but I have to say that Bert who was the winner this week is sure to make the list. This is his winning creation and its beautiful. I have such high hopes so far since the one I felt should win this week did, I tend to be upset with the judges on many of their choices, which I am sure will happen many times this season too.<br />
<br />
<br />
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UQ3NmpZYV4I/TjR0kVoRQEI/AAAAAAAAFPY/v4ztZ_3SG5c/s1600/Picture+3.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-UQ3NmpZYV4I/TjR0kVoRQEI/AAAAAAAAFPY/v4ztZ_3SG5c/s320/Picture+3.png" width="210" /></a>This creation by Bryce is another one that I fell in love with on the runway. I can't wait to see what else she has in store of us in the coming shows.<br />
<br />
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9kNfDygwhdM/TjR1mQPxaQI/AAAAAAAAFPc/hV7-vEYqXo4/s1600/Picture+5.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9kNfDygwhdM/TjR1mQPxaQI/AAAAAAAAFPc/hV7-vEYqXo4/s200/Picture+5.png" width="132" /></a>Now for the outfit that I didn't like like at all and once again I totally agreed with the judges on this one by Rafael. I just can't believe that he didn't understand what was wrong with it. The pants to me made this flat stomach model look like she had the biggest pooch.<br />
<br />
I am very excited about this season and it looks like there are some amazing designers on. Next weeks show looks like a really fun and crazy challenge and I am always amazed with what they are able to come up with for the things they have to use.<br />

So we have been working on the wet bar area and man I really thought this would go a lot faster, but as know once you get going things come up. The first thing we did was to take the trim off of all the doors and drawers which I feel was really dating the look of this area. With doing this it is already looking better.<br />
<br />

Aft some research we decided to go with the wire/cut through glue method. So hubby climbed up and spent about two hours wiggling the wire back and forth behind the mirrors to cut through the glue that was holding them on. There were several times that we thought that they were going to break but I was thrilled and amazed that hubby got all three of them down without anything breaking.<br />

The mirrors had been put on with liquid nails of some sort, so it tore of parts of the sheet rock, and where we had to scrap glue off that meant we scrapped off the texture also.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
After chatting with a friend about the best way to fix this we decided to just add the mud compound (after watering it down a bit) to the primer paint and just roll it onto the wall with a fuzzy roller brush. We did about two coats of this mixture and it worked wonderfully and you can't tell that there had been so much damage to the wall.<br />

I made this wreath for my front door for the month of July. I had seen this idea on a Pintrest (man isn't that just the coolest thing) and feel in love with it.<br />

Cut a sheet of paper into 6 pieces, each measuring 4" x 6", for large medallions. (To create a medium-size one, use 3" x 6" sheets, and for the small size, use a 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" sheet.) </div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mQvF6bMv3OY/Ti1szfWjTgI/AAAAAAAAFMI/VLPe3kL00Ns/s1600/100_3337.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="151" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mQvF6bMv3OY/Ti1szfWjTgI/AAAAAAAAFMI/VLPe3kL00Ns/s200/100_3337.JPG" width="200" /></a> 2. Fold each piece of paper width wise in 3/8" wide accordion-style pleats. I used my score board to make this process go a lot faster and easier. Use a bone folder or the edge of a metal ruler to sharpen creases.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-R3pjrt4QYKY/Ti1t6caZujI/AAAAAAAAFMM/5rAvcOUZY4w/s1600/100_3339.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-R3pjrt4QYKY/Ti1t6caZujI/AAAAAAAAFMM/5rAvcOUZY4w/s200/100_3339.JPG" width="194" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">3. Fold each pleated piece of paper in half and hot glue inner edges together. Gently spread pleats apart. Arrange three fanned pieces together to form a circle, and join with tape. Add a star sticker to center. You will need approximately 40 of these medallions to create the wreath.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-31L_Wx3GQDjIaRjzkBMUhWDDQo9rroDDLPYq9i3v6HCAghjB3wYrxeFW-lWG71yjZ88xovtgUdopQ-rjdv9XmzNPRPTvVy5PpUA19NT-iian-XPfPMkwh6klINSe8EhHx0rBubI875H3/s1600/100_3356.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-31L_Wx3GQDjIaRjzkBMUhWDDQo9rroDDLPYq9i3v6HCAghjB3wYrxeFW-lWG71yjZ88xovtgUdopQ-rjdv9XmzNPRPTvVy5PpUA19NT-iian-XPfPMkwh6klINSe8EhHx0rBubI875H3/s320/100_3356.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="color: #333333; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px;">4. I painted my wreath red before adding the medallions, you can also wrap it in ribbon to cover it. Starting with largest medallion, hot-glue each to wreath. Continue with medium and small sizes until wreath is covered I painted and glittered the stars and then added them around the wreath. Lastly I glued a piece of ribbon to the back for the hanger. </div><br />
<br />
This wreath will also work great for memorial day, so it will get used more than once a year.<br />

<br />
Happy Father's Day !!<br />
We decided to try something new this year for hubby's special dinner and man oh man was it a hit. I found this recipe on <a href="http://www.relish.com/gallery/steak-and-eggs-with-salsa-verde-and-fontina/1/">Relish.com</a>. It was super easy to make and tasted amazing, we will be making it a lot more in the future.<br />
<br />
I want to remind everyone that we shouldn't wait for a holiday to show the ones we love how much we appreciate them. I would love to be able to share this day with my dad, I miss him so much.<br />
<br />
Stay tuned or more new recipes we plan on trying and new one once a week this summer.<br />

I want to start out by saying I am really sorry for being away for so long things have been super crazy around here. We were dealing with all of the end of the year stuff with the kids, and many other things including dealing with a stroke my mother in law which I will get into in another post. I also have been working on a huge project that seems like it is never going to end. It all started when I got a idea (you all know how dangerous these can be) and decided that I was going to paint the paneling in the living room. I had no idea how much primer it would soak up and how long it would take to just paint one section with the primer. After over a month I am still working on getting the whole room painted, I didn't realize how big the living room was till now LOL.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9LL3KcDM-O0Im-jOpfWudJW6zaut9kqb3o1tpNIz_cpBFmiGkbwbkLDDuz_c7pA7_02RIEz8qdf1DMzT6Zyoxk8ryQTHo6qGyOi1UZdbkhdOxWrHMy2a0qiYEps2UZehkJVNNn2PKBtKj/s1600/100_3332.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9LL3KcDM-O0Im-jOpfWudJW6zaut9kqb3o1tpNIz_cpBFmiGkbwbkLDDuz_c7pA7_02RIEz8qdf1DMzT6Zyoxk8ryQTHo6qGyOi1UZdbkhdOxWrHMy2a0qiYEps2UZehkJVNNn2PKBtKj/s200/100_3332.JPG" width="150" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEAv2kYpPtw5YSJjPtwTZNIdxSlj8duUdw-7hZBapwC7k8wqwM7SFARLBuBzoBa4mFw-o7DbC7OVHMehJtkTIGo3tiLEUEqAayPMdF7IQ3foIQq-FmET_xRIRIsoKv0GQq8fS3RWFiLpqg/s1600/100_3330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEAv2kYpPtw5YSJjPtwTZNIdxSlj8duUdw-7hZBapwC7k8wqwM7SFARLBuBzoBa4mFw-o7DbC7OVHMehJtkTIGo3tiLEUEqAayPMdF7IQ3foIQq-FmET_xRIRIsoKv0GQq8fS3RWFiLpqg/s200/100_3330.JPG" width="150" /></a>So this is what I started with the paneling isn't too dark but with no real windows in the living room it makes the room much darker than I like. I went and looked for colors for several days and got several testers. When I found the colors I wanted I started priming and priming and priming some more. Let me tell you this is enough to discourage a girl.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilIcMRrgQPjPBrAKEsph1H3BWupBgAIugcAKhXNKuU-caWHgpZXeozFSPyX8uM61YSw6cvN3pj-5UAv7hL1sPTj0lzdzoRD8Ok8mNTFpGTLy8kp2UmAO3cUf-WBAhMp4l0Pom9pNxoDngV/s1600/100_3333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEilIcMRrgQPjPBrAKEsph1H3BWupBgAIugcAKhXNKuU-caWHgpZXeozFSPyX8uM61YSw6cvN3pj-5UAv7hL1sPTj0lzdzoRD8Ok8mNTFpGTLy8kp2UmAO3cUf-WBAhMp4l0Pom9pNxoDngV/s400/100_3333.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br />
Finally it looked like it wasn't going to soak in anymore and we were ready to start this thing. This wall alone took over a week between the priming and painting. Oh yeah and when I said there were no real windows, I do have these three windows and a door that lead into my sun room which is where we get our light form. I have lots more to go and on it and have more to share with different parts of the living room. I will be adding those in the next couple of days. I still have about half of the living room to prime and paint but I am really loving how it is turning out so far.<br />
<br />
I also have several other projects to share in the coming weeks along with a fun surprise. I wanted to thank everyone of my followers for sticking it out with me and promise to not be absent like this again.<br />

As soon as I saw <a href="http://3punkmom.blogspot.com/2010/05/tutorial-land-of-nod-inspired-floor.html">Living With Punks</a> post on the ones that she made I just knew that I had to make some for my boys. I had to do some modifications since I could not find any decor fabric for boys, everything was girlie. I also ended up changing up the handle just a bit on the second one which I will show. I hope you all run over and check out her site and get just as inspired as I am.<br />
<br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">So to get started here are the supplies that were listed:</span><br />
<br />
<ul style="line-height: 20px;"><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">1 yard Home Dec Fabric</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">2<span style="background-color: white;"> pkgs. 1/2 " pre</span> made piping</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Contrasting Thread</span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">16-24oz. Fiberfill, depending on how lofty you want it</span></li>
</ul><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Now because I ended up using just regular cotton fabric there are a couple more supplies to make it hold up which are:</span></span></div><br />
<br />
<ul style="line-height: 20px;"><li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">Quilting batting </span></li>
<li><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">2<span style="background-color: white;"> yards medium weight interfacing </span></span></li>
</ul><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">I cut out my pieces: </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom-color: initial; border-bottom-style: none; border-bottom-width: medium; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-left-width: medium; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: none; border-right-width: medium; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: none; border-top-width: medium; clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> 2 of the 17" circles (top and bottom)</span></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom-color: initial; border-bottom-style: none; border-bottom-width: medium; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-left-width: medium; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: none; border-right-width: medium; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: none; border-top-width: medium; clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">1 piece cut at 9"x51.5" (side)</span></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom-color: initial; border-bottom-style: none; border-bottom-width: medium; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-left-width: medium; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: none; border-right-width: medium; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: none; border-top-width: medium; clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">you will have to piece this together if your fabric is 45"</span></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom-color: initial; border-bottom-style: none; border-bottom-width: medium; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-left-width: medium; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: none; border-right-width: medium; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: none; border-top-width: medium; clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">2 pieces cut at 3" x 12" (handle)</span></div><div class="separator" style="border-bottom-color: initial; border-bottom-style: none; border-bottom-width: medium; border-left-color: initial; border-left-style: none; border-left-width: medium; border-right-color: initial; border-right-style: none; border-right-width: medium; border-top-color: initial; border-top-style: none; border-top-width: medium; clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />

Next I cut the quilting batting to fit each piece and pined to the wrong side. I used the hand quilted stitch on my sewing machine and just followed the lines on the material to give it the quilted look and feel. I did this with each piece except for one of the handle pieces, I only ironed the interfacing on it and since it was going to be the one against the cushion I didn't worry about the quilting on it either. </span></div><br />

</span><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8I70Ulpfx9g/TZpr7FHuhVI/AAAAAAAAEt4/jLmIlSywgVo/s1600/100_3253.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8I70Ulpfx9g/TZpr7FHuhVI/AAAAAAAAEt4/jLmIlSywgVo/s200/100_3253.JPG" width="200" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">After these two steps I was very happy with the weight of of fabric and felt like it would hold up well to abuse. Now we are ready to starting putting it together. First pin your <span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"> bias tape directly on to one of the circles, </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">making sure to line up raw edges. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">When you get to the end, overlap pieces and bend them at an angle.U</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">sing the contrasting thread you chose, stitch <strong>right on top</strong> of the stitching that is on your <span style="background-color: white;">pre-</span>made piping (man does this make things so much easier). The contrasting </span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">thread does need to be easily seen on the wrong side of your fabric so that when you go to put it all together you can just follow it as a sewing guide. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iSHf2F-JZcM/TZpsGNuj0UI/AAAAAAAAEuE/kR-aNmEL94c/s1600/100_3257.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-iSHf2F-JZcM/TZpsGNuj0UI/AAAAAAAAEuE/kR-aNmEL94c/s200/100_3257.JPG" width="200" /></a></span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> Sew both circles and the quilted handle piece this way. Place the other handle piece on top of the quilted one right sides facing each other, using your previous stitching as a guide (this is where the contrasting thread comes in handy), stitch the two pieces together. This is were I varied from her instructions again. I put the pipping on the ends also and stitched everything together expect for a small hole big enough to turn the handle inside out. Then I slipped stitched it closed. I really like the clean finished look it gives it. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; line-height: 20px; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u2wsC0NRe6k/TZprcVIukwI/AAAAAAAAEtQ/ffSVxoErvz0/s1600/100_3282.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-u2wsC0NRe6k/TZprcVIukwI/AAAAAAAAEtQ/ffSVxoErvz0/s200/100_3282.JPG" width="179" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4Y2H2Q8w65c/TZpsCW3zPaI/AAAAAAAAEuA/yrvW9nmqDdk/s1600/100_3255.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-4Y2H2Q8w65c/TZpsCW3zPaI/AAAAAAAAEuA/yrvW9nmqDdk/s200/100_3255.JPG" width="200" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;">This is what we have so far, I didn't do the handle with all edges done till the making the second cushion. Here again I make a slight change, I went ahead and added the handle onto the large strip of material. I measured the width and centered it then sewed a large box using a double stitch and added the x to make it sturdier as her instructions were. I found it easier to had the handle now rather then after the two pieces are put together. Our next step is to t<span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">ake your large side piece and pin it carefully to one of the circles,</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">right sides together and matching raw edges. </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">Make sure to leave about 1" free on the end. Do not pull too hard, and make sure to compensate for the curve of the circle, if you using the interfacing and quit batting it will be a bit stiffer but goes on the same way. </span></span><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DwqIroxOV2M/TZpsZKWcd9I/AAAAAAAAEuk/mFbJtqk2APg/s1600/100_3268.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-DwqIroxOV2M/TZpsZKWcd9I/AAAAAAAAEuk/mFbJtqk2APg/s200/100_3268.JPG" width="150" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><br />
</span></span><br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i50db5ph9L0/TZpsqr8_oSI/AAAAAAAAEu8/uQHbLE2Qd3E/s1600/100_3274.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-i50db5ph9L0/TZpsqr8_oSI/AAAAAAAAEu8/uQHbLE2Qd3E/s200/100_3274.JPG" width="150" /></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;">Pin all the way around until you come to the other end. Time to stitch them together using that contrasting thread just sew right on top of the line made from sewing the pipping on. Almost there, now we add our other circle to the other end, pin and sew again. This time leaving a hole large enough to turn it inside out and stuff. </span></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lRkyGMHk2Gw/TZprYCElQQI/AAAAAAAAEtE/DpkRefgnpBU/s1600/100_3277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lRkyGMHk2Gw/TZprYCElQQI/AAAAAAAAEtE/DpkRefgnpBU/s200/100_3277.JPG" width="200" /></a></div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-lRkyGMHk2Gw/TZprYCElQQI/AAAAAAAAEtE/DpkRefgnpBU/s1600/100_3277.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"></span></span></a><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 20px;"><br />
</span><br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"> Once it is stuff then slip stitch it closed. Now if you are going tuft it with a button then you will do that before you close the opening but after you have stuffed it. I have to say this is was the first time I had done this and I don't think the way that I did it was the "right" way because well I stabbed myself several times in the process. I suggest doing to searches on the net since the only way I can share with you draws blood!!!!!!! LOL. </span></div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FQ18z33SrQg/TZprdcQjO7I/AAAAAAAAEtU/EqaduezrOcQ/s1600/100_3283.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="186" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-FQ18z33SrQg/TZprdcQjO7I/AAAAAAAAEtU/EqaduezrOcQ/s200/100_3283.JPG" width="200" /></span></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AwYTlesy7Js/TZprZTfSBBI/AAAAAAAAEtI/fsvhb4v6lXY/s1600/100_3279.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: inherit;"><img border="0" height="287" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AwYTlesy7Js/TZprZTfSBBI/AAAAAAAAEtI/fsvhb4v6lXY/s320/100_3279.JPG" width="320" /></span></a><br />

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px;">Like the first two books in this series this one started off very slow, but then soon picked up and became a real page turner. I am not sure I like the ending but am left wondering if he had had plans on leaving it open to write another book sadly since he died right after writing these books we will never know. I encourage everyone to give this trilogy a try.</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px;"> </span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #181818; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 18px;"><br />

<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BqeI7APkpsw/TYjTXVT9S-I/AAAAAAAAEfs/hXSN2hnJjxs/s1600/100_3163.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; display: inline !important; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-BqeI7APkpsw/TYjTXVT9S-I/AAAAAAAAEfs/hXSN2hnJjxs/s200/100_3163.JPG" width="150" /></a><br />
One of my daughter's friends was about to have her birthday and she wanted me to make something for her. The challenge was that she is pretty much a tomboy who will only add a little splash of girlie from time to time. After digging through my "to work on pile" (which is way to big by the way) I came across the supplies I had gotten to make a cuff for my son and the light bulb came on. What I used for this one was a leather cuff or bracelet with the snap I love these I get them at Hobby Lobby, also the leather clear leather finish, needles, and I used a cord necklace for my sewing material. In the scrapbook sections I got the metal letter charms, there was already a hole in the top so hubby drilled one on the bottom for me. I also had some enamel paint on hand that I used.<br />
<br />
<br />
I first spelled out her name and laid it on the cuff to figure out my spacing, then I took my piercing tool and made two holes for each letter in the cuff. Next I used a tooth pick to add the enamel paint in the letter so that it would pop.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bGHxLN_MK_A/TYjYsg1o8pI/AAAAAAAAEgQ/wBoAOhDzpxQ/s1600/100_3161.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="103" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-bGHxLN_MK_A/TYjYsg1o8pI/AAAAAAAAEgQ/wBoAOhDzpxQ/s320/100_3161.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
After they were dry I cut one of the cord strands off of the necklace and threaded it onto the needle, I have to say it took some work to get the needle through the leather because of the cord, it made it a bit thick at the eye, but that's what hubby's are for right! I sewed on each letter started underneath the metal piece so that I could cut and tie each one off and it would be hidden it gave them a very clean look. After that we decided that it could use a little something else so I got my Irock out and we added the orange crystals to it. Micalee loved it and has been wearing it daily. She really likes how the leather is now starting to age some and darken up. I guess I really need to get to making the one for son LOL.<br />

I made a shamrock for the front door out of felt, then a very quick and easy shirt for one of the boys. Lastly I had to have something green to wear so I wasn't in danger of getting pinched so I made this necklace out of the left over fabric from making the shirt. I hope everyone has a fun and green day!!! I have several projects to put added so keep an eye out next week. I also would like to just thank everyone for stopping by and taking the time to check out my blog. <br />
